Introduction
Radio message from the Higher SS and Police Leader (HSSPF) Russia South, Friedrich Jeckeln, to the Kommando Stab RF-SS, dated 28 August 1941. The situation report records that Police Regiment South reported “369 Jews shot,” while Police Battalion 320 stated that, “approximately 5,000 Jews were shot” during the “special action” in Kamenets-Podolsky (Kamianets-Podilskyi).

Activity: 1st SS Brigade: during the execution of the clearing operation north of the Korosten–Bialokurowicze line, the ordered daily objectives were achieved; execution of the clearing operation was impeded by persistent rain and flooding. Police Regiment South: deployment in railway security service without change; combing of the forest area north of Jwatki. Police Battalion 304: search for two escaped paratroopers. Police Battalion: continuation of the special action in Kamenenz–Podolskij1.
Results:
1st SS Brigade: 42 prisoners; 12 Jews and 1 partisan associate shot. Captured: 2 light [weapons], 200 pickaxes, 30 wire cutters. Police Regiment South: 4 prisoners; 369 Jews shot. Battalion 304: 2 remaining paratroopers apprehended, along with 3 Bolsheviks and 1 Jew; the paratrooper who offered resistance was shot on 28 August. Captured: leaflets, dynamite, and hand grenades. Police Battalion 320: during the special action in Kamenenz–Podolskij1, approximately 5,000 Jews shot.
Losses:
Commander SS I.R. 8, SS squadron Sacks, died on 27 August in the field hospital at Zwiahel from wounds sustained on 19 August.
