Introduction
This document of November 22, 1941 was written by Hauptmann Speckmann from the regular police in Kalisch (Kalisz) and describes procedures for the deportation of Jews by Sonderkommando Lange. The killer commando is referred to as “official of the Special Representative of the Secret State Police.” The handwritten memo provides detailed instructions regarding guard duty. Furthermore, it discusses the consolidation of areas and the apprehension of escaped Jews. The document concludes with the temporary stop of the so-called “Jewish action” as ordered by Sonderkommando Lange, withdrawal of guard duty and the transfer of workshop keys to an official of the Economic Office. Thus, the document provides some valuable insights into the logistics of the deportation of the Jews during the phase when Sonderkommando Lange operated as a mobile killing unit. Mündlicher Auftrag durch v. 15. 11.41
Besprechung am 16.11.1941 um 15.00 Uhr mit den Revierführern.
1. das Judenlager ist ab 1700 Uhr bis zum Abtransport des letzten Juden zu bewachen. Dabei sind nicht nur die Ausgänge, sondern auch die [?] zu bewachen. Einstellung der Bewachung nur auf meine persönliche Anordnung. Verlassen des Legers ist verboten, auch derjenigen Juden, die sonst zur Arbeit gehen
2. Ausgangspunkt der Bewachung ist das 1. Polizeirevier.
3. Ein älterer Meister ist zur ständigen Aufsicht zu bestimmen.
4. Ablösung an Ort u. Stelle. Bewaffnung mit Karabiner.

6. Kräfte
Jedes Revier stellt 1 Mstr. 6 Männer
7. Durch den Abtransport eines Teiles der Juden am 18.11. war es möglich, eine Zusammenlegung vorzunehmen.
Es wurde deshalb geräumt:
a) Der [?] Lingerstr. 4, Übergabe an Wirtschaftsamt – Oberinspektor Derichs – ist erfolgt.
b) das Hinterhaus Wienerstr. 13
8 . Aufgrund dieser Zusammenlegung wurden 3 Posten eingezogen, daß nunmehr noch an Kräften eingesetzt sind:

6 Männer, von jedem Revier 2
Eine entflohene Jüdin ist gefasst, nach dem Juden wird noch gefahndet, er soll sich nach [?] , wo er geboren ist, begeben haben, Gend. hat Kenntnis. Außerdem fehlen noch die Juden Feigin u. Rakowski sie sind angeblich am 14.11. von der Arbeit nicht ins Judenlager zurückgekehrt.
Abschlußvermerk
Am 21. 11. 41 geg. 17:30 Uhr teilte ein Beamter der hier weilenden Sonderbeauftragten der Geheimen Staatspolizei mit, daß der Judeneinsatz vorläufig beendet sei. Daraufhin wurden die Posten in der Wienerstraße eingezogen und die Woche aufgelöst. Die Schlüssel zu dem gesamten Arbeitswerkstätten der Juden wurden dem Oberinspektor Berichs vom Wirtschaftsamte übergeben. Der auf Anordnung des Herrn Oberbürgermeisters heranzuziehende Vertrauensmann, Sandgruber, war zugegen.

Verbal order dated November 15, 1941….
Meeting on November 16, 1941, at 3:00 PM with the police station leaders.
1. The Jewish camp is to be guarded from 5:00 PM until the transportation of the last Jew. Not only the exits but also the [?] are to be guarded. Discontinuation of the guard duty is only permitted upon my personal order. Leaving the camp is prohibited, even for those Jews who otherwise go to work.
2. The starting point for the guard duty is the 1st Police Station.
3. An older Meister is to be appointed for constant supervision.
4. Relief duty on-site. Armed with carbines.
5. Guard duty:

6. Forces
Each police station provides 1 Meister, 6 men.
7. Due to the transportation of a portion of the Jews on November 18, it was possible to consolidate.
Therefore, the following areas were cleared:
a) [? ] Lingerstr. 4, handed over to the Economic Office – Senior Inspector Derichs.
b) the rear building of Wienerstr. 13
Due to this consolidation, 3 posts were withdrawn, leaving the following forces:
1 Mstr as guard commander
6 men, 2 from each police station
An escaped Jewess has been apprehended, while a search is still ongoing for the Jew, who is believed to have returned to [?}, where he was born. Police have been informed. Additionally, the Jews Feigin and Rakowski are still missing; they allegedly did not return to the Jewish camp from work on November 14.
Final remark
On November 21, 1941, around 5:30 PM, an official of the Special Representative of the Secret State Police stationed here informed that the Jewish action had been temporarily finished. Subsequently, the posts in Wienerstraße were withdrawn, and the guard duty was dissolved. The keys to the entire Jewish workshops were handed over to Senior Inspector Derichs by the Economic Office. The trusted representative, Sandgruber, to be summoned as per the order of the Lord Mayor, was present.
