Mit ihrem Schreiben vom 27. Juni 1942 – Tgb.Nr. 1247/42 G.R. – gaben sie mir die Genehmigung, diejenigen Angehörigen des polnischen Volktums, die nachweisbar mit einer offenen und deshalb nicht mehr heilbaren Lungentuberkolose behaftet sind, einer Sonderbehandlung zuzuführen. Diese Sonderbehandlung der Schwerkranken kann natürlich erst stattfinden, wenn die gesamte Bevölkerung meines Gaugebietes daraufhin untersucht worden ist, wer heilbar und wer nicht heilbar ist. Die Untersuchungen werden nach dem verfahren des Professorrs Dr. Hohlfelder, der mit seinem Röntgensturmbann in diesen Wochen hier im Gau eingesetzt wird, demnächst anlaufen. Die erste Auswertung dieses Verfahrens wird schätzungsweise in einem halben Jahr möglich sein.
In diesem Stadium des Anlaufens erhebt nunmehr Herr Professor Dr. Blome in seiner Eigenschaft als stellvertretender Leiter des Hauptamts für Volksgesundheit der NSDAP. Bedenken bezüglich der Durchführung, die er mir in einem Schreiben vom 18. November zu Papier gebracht hat. Diese Bedenken kommen erst jetzt zum Ausdruck, trotzdem ich mit Herrn Dr. Blome ebenso wie mit Herrn Professor Hohlfelder den gesamten Verfahrensweg in monatelanger Vorarbeit geprüft, geklärt und geebnet hatte.
Ich erlaube mir, Ihnen eine Abschrift des Blome’schen Briefes vom 18. November zur gefl. Kenntnisnahme zu übersenden mit der Bitte, insbesondere die Seiten 3, 3a und 4 zu lesen und mir alsdann mitteilen zu wollen, ob Sie es für nötig halten, den Führer über diesen Stand des Verfahrens zu unterrichten und evtl. zu befragen, oder ob ein solches Vorgehen verneint werden muß.
Ich für meine Person glaube nicht, daß der Führer in dieser Angelegenheit noch einmal befragt werden muß umso mehr, als er mir bei der letzten Rücksprache erst bezüglich der Juden gesagt hat, ich möchte mit diesen nach eigenem Ermessen verfahren.
Ich bitte Sie, Reichsführer, mir alsbald ihre Stellungsnahme zu übermitteln, damit das zum Anlaufen gekommene Verfahren keine unnötige Verzögerung erhält.

With your letter of June 27, 1942 – Ref. No. 1247/42 G.R. – you granted me permission to subject those members of the Polish community who are proven to be afflicted with open and thus incurable pulmonary tuberculosis to special treatment. This special treatment of the seriously ill can naturally only take place once the entire population of my Gau area has been examined to determine who is curable and who is not curable. The examinations, using the method of Professor Dr. Hohlfelder, who will be deployed with his X-ray storm battalion here in the Gau in the coming weeks, will start soon. The initial evaluation of this process is estimated to be possible in about six months.
At this stage of initiation, Professor Dr. Blome, in his capacity as Deputy Head of the Main Office for Public Health of the NSDAP, has raised concerns regarding the implementation, which he put down in writing to me in a letter dated November 18. These concerns are only now being expressed, despite the fact that I, together with Mr. Dr. Blome as well as with Mr. Professor Hohlfelder, had thoroughly examined, clarified, and paved the entire procedural path through months of preliminary work.
I take the liberty of sending you a copy of Dr. Blome’s letter dated November 18 for your confidential consideration, with the request to read especially pages 3, 3a, and 4, and then to inform me whether you consider it necessary to inform the Führer about this stage of the process and possibly to consult him, or whether such action must be denied.
For my part, I do not believe that the Führer needs to be consulted again on this matter, especially since during our last discussion regarding the Jews, he told me to proceed at my own discretion.
I kindly request, Reichsführer, that you promptly convey your opinion to me so that the initiated process does not experience any unnecessary delay.
